Privacy Policy
Effective July 2026. Nize is built so your saved things stay yours. This page explains exactly what data moves where, in plain language.
Your library lives on your device
Everything you save (cards, notes, lists, categories) is stored locally on your iPhone. There are no Nize accounts and we do not maintain a copy of your library on our servers.
Processing your saves
When you save something, the content you shared (a link, text, or the text recognized from a screenshot on your device) is sent to our server so it can be organized into a card. To extract structured details, the server sends that content to AI providers (xAI, Anthropic, and optionally OpenAI) under agreements where your content is not used to train their models.
The server keeps a save only transiently, while processing it and until your device collects the result; leftovers are deleted automatically within 14 days at most. Screenshots themselves stay on your device; only recognized text is sent.
Optional iCloud sync
If enabled, your library syncs through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. That data is in your private iCloud database, which we cannot access.
Notifications
To tell you a save is ready, we store your device's anonymous push token alongside a random install identifier. Neither is tied to your name, email, or identity.
Location
If you allow location access, distances to saved places are computed on your device. Your location is never sent to our servers.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no profiles, no ads.
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- No training of AI models on your content.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the app, we receive the message you wrote, your app version, and the anonymous install identifier, so we can fix things. That's all.
Data deletion
Deleting the app deletes your on-device library. Server-side, saves are already transient (gone within 14 days at most). To have feedback messages removed, email us.
